Digital Desk: US President Donald Trump stunned the country by appointing 13-year-old DJ Daniel, a Texas child who has fought illness for years, as an honorary Secret Service agent in a touching moment during his first joint session address to Congress.
Trump told his story while DJ sat in the gallery, stating that he was given only five months to live after receiving a rare cancer diagnosis in 2018. Nevertheless, DJ persisted in his goal of becoming a police officer in spite of all obstacles.

"The doctors gave him five months at most to live," he stated. More than six years have passed since then. DJ and his father have been working to fulfill his ambition ever since.
"Tonight, DJ, we're going to do you the biggest honour of them all," said Trump. "I am asking our new Secret Service Director, Sean Curran, to officially make you an agent of the United States Secret Service." Trump extended his remarks.
