Explosions rock Lahore, Pakistan day after OP Sindoor
Digital Desk: A series of explosions were heard in Lahore, Pakistan, on Thursday, a day after Operation Sindoor. Reports state that the blasts occurred at Gopal Nagar and Naseerabad, close to Walton Airport.
Witnesses reported seeing plumes of smoke in the region and people fleeing their homes in terror. The impacted region is near to both the army cantonment and the major business sector of Lahore.
Flight operations at the Sialkot and Lahore airports have been suspended, according to local media. The explosion may have been triggered by a drone, which is thought to be between five and six feet in size, according to police sources. According to reports, the drone was shot down by disrupting its systems.
Fortunately, no civilian injuries or infrastructure damage have been reported thus far. The incident occurred one day after India launched Operation Sindoor, which targeted terrorist camps in Pakistan in retaliation for the 26-person Pahalgam terror assault.
