Myanmar Earthquake: Death toll passes 700 in Myanmar

More than 700 people in Myanmar have been killed and 1670 injured after a 7.7-magnitude earthquake struck on Friday.
Following the massive earthquake that struck Bangkok on Friday, at least eight people were dead and more than 117 were missing.
Thailand's capital has been declared a disaster area.
The tremor was reported at a depth of 10 kilometers, with its epicenter in Mandalay in Myanmar.
The tremor originated in Myanmar, a region prone to seismic activity due to its location along active fault lines.
Strong tremors were reportedly felt across parts of Northeast India, Myanmar, Thailand and China.
Manipur, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, and Nagaland were among the Northeastern states that experienced the tremors due to their intensity.
Large-scale damages to properties have been reported from different parts of Myanmar and Bangkok in Thailand.
Myanmar has declared a state of emergency in six regions following the strong earthquake.
Myanmar’s junta chief, Min Aung Hlaing, has made a rare appeal for global assistance in response to the devastating earthquake that struck the country, killing at least 144 people and injuring over 730.
Following a devastating earthquake that killed over 150 people in Myanmar and Thailand, several countries, including India, have offered assistance.
