Pakistan: Bomb blast in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, at least 12 dead, 30 injured

Digital Desk: A devastating terrorist attack struck Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on Tuesday evening, leaving at least 12 people dead and 30 injured.

When two suicide bombers set off explosives to breach a wall at a military base in Bannu Cantonment, other attackers were able to enter the compound and launch the assault.

Just after Iftar in the current month of Ramadan, the terrorists, who were allegedly connected to Jaish-ul-Fursan, a group associated with Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), targeted the security barrier.

The blasts caused widespread destruction, damaging homes and buildings and even collapsing the roof of a nearby mosque while worshippers were inside.

Hospital officials reported that four of the victims were children who lived close to the scene of the blasts.

Shehbaz Sharif, the Prime Minister of Pakistan, expressed his sorrow over the deaths and denounced the act.

An investigation into the incident was ordered by Ali Amin Gandapur, the chief minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

This attack follows another horrific blast that took place on February 28 at a seminary in the same region during Friday prayers, killing a prominent pro-Taliban preacher and four worshippers while injuring 20 more.
