Pakistan: Five killed and ten injured after bomb explodes in Naushki, Balochistan
Digital Desk: A roadside bomb exploded near a bus transporting security troops in restive southwestern Pakistan on Sunday, killing five cops and injuring ten others, according to authorities.
The attack took place in Naushki, a district in Balochistan, according to Zafar Zamanani, the local police commander. The deceased and wounded were taken to a neighboring hospital.
Sarfraz Bugti, Balochistan's chief minister, condemned the incident.
No one has immediately claimed responsibility, but the outlawed Baloch Liberation Army is likely to be blamed, as it ambushed a train days earlier, took approximately 400 people hostage, and killed 26 captives before security forces conducted an operation that killed all 33 militants.
The incident occurred after Islamabad refuted the long-standing accusations of discrimination made by ethnic Baloch people against the central government. The Baloch Liberation Army has been calling on the central government to grant them independence.
