Passenger PSA Airlines Jet Crashes With US Army Chopper Near Washington; 18 lives reported dead
Digital Desk: A Plane crash disaster took place at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport. US officials regarding the crash stated that, "A BlackHawk helicopter carrying three US Army personnel crashed with an American Airlines regional flight."
The crash killed at least 18 people, and an intensive search is underway to find any survivors
Reportedly, as per current updates, three soldiers were on board the Black Hawk helicopter; their status remains unknown.
The person, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, said the soldiers' situation was unknown, but no senior officials were aboard the chopper.
Another official stated that the Army UH-60 helicopter involved in the disaster was based in Fort Belvoir, Virginia.
The US Federal Aviation Administration reported that a Black Hawk chopper was approaching Reagan when it collided with a regional airliner operated by PSA Airlines in midair. According to a US Army officer, the accident was caused by one of their helicopters.
American Airlines was notified of reports of an incident involving American Eagle flight 5342, operated by PSA, and seats with a seating capacity of upto 65 passengers.
American Airlines took the incident report to social media and posted that, "it was aware of reports that American Eagle flight 5342, with service from Wichita, Kansas (ICT) to Washington Reagan National Airport (DCA), got involved in an incident."
American Airlines stated that it might provide additional information as it became available to them.
