Digital Desk: Pope Francis' coffin has arrived at the Basilica di Santa Maria Maggiore in Rome.
Pallbearers took the casket from the popemobile and carried it inside the basilica, where Francis will be laid to rest.
Francis defied precedent by being buried here rather than within the splendour of the Vatican, becoming the first pope to be buried outside its walls in almost a century.

The Vatican announced on Saturday that more than 250,000 people attended Pope Francis' burial in St. Peter's Square.
Notably, Top leaders like President Droupadi Murmu, US President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy are among the political figures who were spotted at the funeral ceremony to pay homage to Pope Francis.
Moreover, President Murmu was accompanied by Union Minister Kiren Rijiju, MoS George Kurian, and Goa Deputy Speaker Joshua De Souza on behalf of the Indian Government and the people of India.
Pope Francis, who died on Easter Monday at the age of 88, was laid to rest on Saturday in a simple underground tomb at St. Mary Major Basilica in Rome. His funeral will take place in St. Peter's Square.
