Professor Sacked by J&K Lieutenant Governor for terrorist activities, hired by Al Falah
Digital Desk: A professor previously fired by the Jammu and Kashmir government for suspected ties to terrorist groups was hired by a private university in Faridabad, Haryana, which is already being investigated in relation to the Delhi blast.
Nine people were killed and almost two dozen were injured in the November 10 explosion near the Red Fort.
According to NDTV reports, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha of Jammu and Kashmir fired Dr. Nisar-ul-Hassan, a professor in the university's medical department, in 2023 in violation of Article 311(2)(c) of the Constitution. In situations pertaining to the state's security, the clause permits the government to fire a public employee without conducting a departmental investigation.
According to official records, before his termination, Dr. Nisar-ul-Hassan was employed as an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Shri Maharaja Hari Singh (SMHS) Hospital in Srinagar.
The Lieutenant Governor was "satisfied after considering the facts and circumstances of the case and on the basis of information available, that the activities of Dr. Nisar-Ul-Hassan are such as to warrant his dismissal from service," according to the order, which was issued on November 21, 2023.
According to Article 311 of the Indian Constitution, the Lieutenant Governor has concluded that an inquiry against Dr. Nisar-Ul-Hassan, Assistant Professor at SMHS Hospital, is unnecessary for state security considerations.
Following his discharge in Jammu and Kashmir, he worked as a Professor at Al-Falah University in Faridabad, which denies any ties to terrorist organizations.
Meanwhile, government officials are looking into possible linkages between terror cells in Delhi-NCR and the institution, but Dr. Nisar-Ul-Hassan is still untraceable.
Dr. Shaheen Saeed and Dr. Muzammil Shakeel, both from Al-Falah University, were arrested for their involvement in illegal operations.
Dr. Saeed was seized after officials discovered an assault rifle and ammunition in her vehicle, which were allegedly tied to her role in founding a women's section of Jaish-e-Mohammed. Dr. Muzammil was detained with 2,900 kg of explosives.
