Rajouri attack mastermind and Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorist Abu Qatal shot dead in Pakistan

Digital Desk: Abu Qatal, alias Faisal Nadeem, Lashkar-e-Taiba's top most-wanted terrorist, was killed in Pakistan on Saturday night. He was an active member of the terrorist organization and was involved in several strikes in Kashmir.

Sources claim that at around 7:00 p.m., Abu Qatal, whose true name is Zia-ur-Rehman, was traveling in the Jhelum region with his security guard when unidentified assailants started shooting. Abu Qatal and a security guard were immediately killed by the attackers' 15–20 shots. Another guard suffered serious injuries.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) charged Qatal, an alleged accomplice of 26/11 Mumbai attack mastermind Hafiz Saeed, and two other Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) handlers with the January 2023 Rajouri attacks.

The agency's efforts to dismantle the terrorist network in Jammu and Kashmir included the charge sheet.

The complaint, which is lodged under the numbers RC-01 & 02/2023/NIA/JMU, concerned the January 1, 2023, terror attack on people in Dhangri, Rajouri, which was followed by an IED detonation the next day.

Additionally, there were more than seven fatal outcomes, including two children, and numerous critical injuries.

Abu Qatal, Saifullah alias Sajid Jutt (also known by several names, including Ali, Habibullah, and Nouman), and Mohd Qasim were the three LeT handlers who were charged.
