This evening, Vance will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his official residence, 7, Lok Kalyan Marg, for a formal dinner and discussion.
Ongoing negotiations for a long-anticipated trade deal aimed at increasing bilateral trade to 500 billion by 2030 will be discussed during the meeting.
The status of President Donald Trump's tariffs on Indian goods, currently paused until July, will be a major point of discussion.
Apart from official meetings, Vance and his family will explore India's cultural heritage by visiting Swaminarayan Akshardham Temple, Amer Fort and Hawa Mahal, Taj Mahal and Shilpgram: a market known for Indian art and crafts in Agra.
The Ministry of External Affairs has expressed confidence that Vance's visit will further boost India-US bilateral relations, given their Comprehensive Strategic Global Partnership. Discussions between Vance and PM Modi are expected to pave the way for deeper cooperation in various sectors, including defense, technology, and trade.
