Ranveer Allahbadia IGL Row: submits apology letter to women's panel for nasty jokes

Digital Desk: Two producers of India's Got Latent, content creator Apoorva Mukhija, and podcaster and YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia have written to the National Commission for Women (NCW) to apologize for their offensive comments on the show.

The four apologized for their language, acknowledged that it was improper, and promised to use more tactful language going forward when they came before the NCW on Thursday.

Addressing the issue, NCW chairperson Vijaya Rahatkar said, "The show's use of profanity is completely offensive. Neither the people nor the Commission will ever accept it. We took notice right away and sent them notices, keeping in mind the societal consequences. They acknowledged their error, expressed regret, and promised that the situation would not recur when they appeared before the Commission.

Even though Allahbadia and the other panelists have expressed regret to the NCW, he is still facing legal issues. He traveled to Guwahati after appearing before the commission, where he is now recording his testimony with the Crime Branch. This follows the Guwahati Police filing a formal complaint against him for his divisive comments.

The incident came in front after Allahbadia asked a question on an episode of India's Got Latent, where he served as a judge alongside Ashish Chanchlani, Jaspreet Singh, and Apoorva Mukhija.

Meanwhile, the Supreme Court has permitted Allahbadia to continue airing his YouTube show, The Ranveer Show, on the condition that it adhere to "morality and decency" standards and be appropriate for all age groups.
