Ranveer Allahbadia allowed by Supreme Court to resume airing his podcast "The Ranveer Show"
Digital Desk: Ranveer Allahbadia, the 31-year-old YouTuber who was previously prohibited from filming any shows, is now permitted to continue his podcast, The Ranveer Show, by the Supreme Court. However, the court ordered him to guarantee that his shows would uphold the appropriate moral standards so that people of all ages might watch them.
Last month, Ranveer Allahbadia, also known as The BeerBiceps Guy, caused a lot of controversy when he made a crude comment on the satirical show India's Got Latent. "Would you rather watch your parents have sex every day for the rest of your life or join in once and stop it forever?" Allahbadia had questioned a contestant during an appearance on the show presented by comedian Samay Raina.
The comment was widely criticized after a video of it went viral, with social media users arguing that vulgarity was being misrepresented as humor on the internet. Samay Raina, Ranveer Allahbadia, and other people connected to the act were the targets of numerous police complaints.
Because his program employs roughly 280 people, Allahbadia's attorney, Abhinav Chandrachud, urged the bench of Justices Surya Kant and N Kotiswar Singh to waive the restriction.
In response to the widespread controversy surrounding YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia's crude comments, the Supreme Court stated today that morality and freedom of expression must be balanced. The Court asked the Center to have this in mind in establishing rules for digital content.
