Fawad Khan and Vaani starring in Abir Gulaal skips release in India,to screen worldwide on August 29
Digital Desk: On August 29, "Abir Gulaal," a romantic drama starring Indian actor Vaani Kapoor and Pakistani actor Fawad Khan, will be released globally, with the exception of India. This comes after the terror attack in Pahalgam, Kashmir, which delayed its release in India.
"Abir Gulaal," movie will be screened in more than 75 countries, including the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom. "Abir Gulaal" will be released on August 29 everywhere but India.
According to a source close to the movie, PTI, it will be released in more than 75 countries, including the UK, UAE, USA, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. Indian Stories Limited will distribute the movie in the United Kingdom.
"Abir Gulaal" also stars Lisa Haydon, Ridhi Dogra, Parmeet Sethi, and veteran actor Farida Jalal in addition to Fawad and Vaani.
The film was originally scheduled for release in India on May 9, but it was postponed after the devastating terror attack in Pahalgam that killed 26 people. Following the assault, a number of trade associations, such as the All Indian Cine Workers Association, demanded that Pakistani performers be prohibited from working in the Indian film industry.
The film's choice to go international reverberates that of Punjabi singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh's 'Sardaar Ji 3'.
The continuous issue over the ban on Pakistani artists has had an impact on several Bollywood projects and releases. To recoup potential losses, filmmakers have shifted their focus to overseas audiences.
