Karisma Kapoor’s ex-husband Sunjay Kapur passed away suffering from Heart related ailment
Digital Desk: Sunjay Kapur, Indian industrialist and former spouse of Bollywood actress Karisma Kapoor, died of a heart attack in the United Kingdom on Thursday (June 12, 2025).
His death was confirmed by novelist and writer Suhel Seth.
Kapur served as the chairman and non-executive director of Sona Comstar. In a press release, the organization stated, "It is with profound sorrow that we announce the untimely passing of Mr. Sunjay J. Kapur, Chairman and Non-Executive Director of Sona Comstar, following a sudden heart attack in England, UK, on 12th June 2025, at the age of 53."
According to several sources, Sunjay Kapur died while playing polo in the UK. He had a heart attack. He reportedly fainted during a polo match on June 12.
It has also been said that Sunjay may have died as a result of unintentionally swallowing a bee during the game.
Moreover, several hours before he died, Sunjay prayed for the victims of the Air India airline disaster in Ahmedabad.
The company also stated that specifics about memorial arrangements will be disclosed in due time.
Sunjay was the ex-husband of actor Karisma Kapoor. The couple welcomed daughter Samaira in 2005 and son Kiaan in 2011. Karisma and Sanjay filed for divorce in 2014 with mutual consent, which got finalized in 2016. Sunjay married Priya Sachdev following their separation.
