Noted Documentary filmmaker Tarun Bhartiya suffered cardiac arrest, passes away at 54 in Shillong
Digital Desk: The well-known poet, filmmaker, and social activist Tarun Bhartiya passed away at the age of 54 after suffering a heart attack.
With his passing away Bhartiya left behind a significant artistic and cinematic legacy.
He was survived by his wife, Angela Rangad, and their three children, and he left a lasting legacy in film and art.
His works, including The Brief Life of Insects and The Last Train in Nepal, continue to inspire and honor his memory.
Bhartiya won a National Film Award for 'Best Editing' in 2009 for his documentary In Camera. Moving back to his past in 2015, he returned his Rajat Kamal Award to then-President Pranab Mukherjee due to his unacceptance of the separation and prejudice in India.
Tarun Bhartiya was also a poet, predominantly working in Hindi, and his work appeared in significant anthologies. His legacy will continue to inspire the generations that follow.
