Pavitra Rishta actress Priya Marathe passed away following a long battle with cancer
Digital Desk: Priya Marathe (38), widely known for her role in the iconic television serial Pavitra Rishta and other Marathi films, passed away in Mumbai on August 31, 2025, after a battle with cancer.
According to the Maharashtra Times, the actress was undergoing cancer treatment, but her condition continued to deteriorate despite medical care. She passed away at her residence in Mira Road, Mumbai.
Priya Marathe, a well-known figure in the Marathi film and television industries, was born in Mumbai on April 23, 1987. She became well-known for playing Varsha in the popular soap opera Pavitra Rishta, which helped her become a household name. Her roles as Vidya Bali in Kasam Se and Jyoti Malhotra in Bade Acche Lagte Hain, both of which were produced by Balaji Telefilms, also brought her praise.
