Tata Motors to Implement Passenger Vehicle Price Hike from July 1

Digital Desk: Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles in India has announced a price increase of up to 1.5% for its cars and SUVs, including electric vehicles, effective July 1.

This move marks the company's second price adjustment in just four months due to rising cost pressures, influenced significantly by ongoing conflicts in the Middle East.

Earlier in the year, Tata Motors also raised prices on its internal combustion engine portfolio starting April 1. The company indicated that the latest price hike aims to partially offset escalating input costs and persistent inflationary pressures, with variations in the extent of the increase depending on the specific models and variants of the vehicles.

This trend reflects wider actions in the automotive industry, as noted by competitors. For instance, Maruti Suzuki, another major player, declared a planned price hike of up to 30,000 rupees (approximately $314.42) starting from June.

Similarly, Hyundai Motor India also increased vehicle prices effective June 1. Alongside passenger vehicles, Tata Motors has also raised the prices of its commercial vehicles by up to 1.5% ($1 = 95.4125 Indian rupees) since April 1, attributing this adjustment to similar rising input costs.

This indicates a growing concern among automakers regarding the impact of inflation and increasing operational costs on their pricing strategies.
