Viral Sensation Monalisa Bhonsle to Make Acting Debut in "Diary of West Bengal"

Digital Desk: Monalisa Bhonsle, a 16-year-old girl from Madhya Pradesh who became an internet sensation while selling garlands at the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj, is set to make her acting debut.

Filmmaker Sanoj Mishra, known for movies like Ghaznavi, Srinagar, Shashank, and Diary of West Bengal, has cast her in his upcoming film, Diary of West Bengal.

Mishra claimed that Diary of West Bengal is a love story, with Bhonsle playing one of the female roles. "I met Monalisa and her family at their home, and they have agreed to let her work in my film," he explained.

Bhonsle, who resides in Maheshwar, around 100 kilometers from Indore, gained popularity on social media for her beautiful amber eyes and bright smile, earning her the nickname "Mona Lisa."

However, the sudden fame also brought challenges, as she reportedly faced harassment at the Kumbh Mela. Concerned for her safety, her family decided to bring her back home.

Despite having no prior acting experience, Bhonsle is ready to embrace this new opportunity. "We will train Monalisa through acting workshops before beginning the film’s shoot in April," Mishra added.

Originally at the Maha Kumbh to sell Rudraksha garlands and beads with her family, Monalisa's journey from a young vendor to a rising star is an inspiring tale of unexpected fame and new beginnings.
