8th time title holder; Indore once again emerges as cleanest city of the year
Digital Desk: President Droupadi Murmu awarded the Swachh Survekshan 2024-25 Awards today at a national ceremony held at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi. Indore is overjoyed because it has once again been named India's cleanest city, marking its eighth consecutive victory in the national government's annual Swachh Survekshan survey, trailing only Surat and Navi Mumbai.
Moreover, Noida is the cleanest city in the 3-10 lakh population category, followed by Chandigarh and Mysuru.
Innovative ideas and community service, such as rigorous waste segregation, a progressive garbage reduction policy, and a clean culture, are credited with Indore's success. Other cities can learn from the commitment of locals, rickshaw drivers, street vendors, and businesses to keeping the area litter-free.
The event, which was organized by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA), recognized cities and urban bodies for their efforts to uphold cleanliness under the Swachh Bharat Mission-Urban (SBM-U).
