Global rankings for year 2025: Abu Dhabi named world’s safest city, Ahmedabad emerged as the safest Indian city
Digital Desk: According to the most recent data from Numbeo's (a crowd-sourced online database) 2025 Crime Index, Abu Dhabi is now officially the safest city in the world.
With a total of 279 cities, the Middle Eastern metropolis ranks first on the global Safety Index by Metropolis 2025 Mid-Year. Abu Dhabi's Safety Index score is 88.8 mid-year, up from 88.4 at the start of 2025, and it remains at the top both times.
For the 9th year in a row, Abu Dhabi has been ranked the world’s safest city, this time out of 382 global cities in Numbeo’s 2025 Safety Index.

According to sources, Abu Dhabi has topped the list for the ninth consecutive year. The UAE is also the world's second safest country, trailing only the tiny European nation of Andorra.
In terms of Indian city rankings, Ahmedabad emerged as the safest, with a safety score of 68.6 and a global rating of 77.
