Ahmedabad Named Host City for 2030 Centenary Commonwealth Games

 

Digital Desk: India is set to host the Commonwealth Games for the second time. Ahmedabad, Gujarat, has been officially designated as the host city for the Commonwealth Games 2030. Previously, India had hosted the Commonwealth Games. Earlier, the CWG 2010 took place in New Delhi.

The Commonwealth Games Federation announced in an official statement that India has been approved as the host of the Centenary Commonwealth Games in 2030.


The announcement also disclosed that India's proposal was chosen after representatives from the 74 Commonwealth members and territories approved it at the Commonwealth Sport General Assembly.

PT Usha, the president of the Commonwealth Games Association of India, discussed the official announcement that Ahmedabad will be the host city for CWG 2030, stating that it will unite athletes from across the Commonwealth nations.

In addition to designating Ahmedabad as the venue for the CWG 2030, the Commonwealth Games Federation revealed that approximately 15 to 17 sports will be included in Ahmedabad 2030.

In its official announcement, Commonwealth Sport stated that the process to complete the rest of the programme will commence next month, and the complete schedule for CWG 2030 will be revealed next year.
