Announcement for Sikkim visiting Tourists-Rs 50 entry fees to be mandatorily charged from now

 

Digital Desk: Announcement for visitors, the governing body declared that tourists entering Sikkim will be asked to pay Rs 50 as entry fees.

According to the Sikkim Registration of Tourist Trade Rules 2025, entry fees will be charged beginning this month.

The fees are collected during hotel check-in and paid into the Tourism Sustainability Development (TSD) Fund, which is used to improve tourism infrastructure and services throughout the state, according to officials.

All tourists, excluding youngsters under five, will be taxed for stays of up to 30 days, they claimed.

Moreover, the tourists who return after a month will be charged again, according to officials.

The state administration intends to use the funds to improve road connectivity, sanitation, and tourism infrastructure, resulting in a better visitor experience, stated the officials.
