Arunachal to celebrate birth centenary of Bhupen Hazarika at Roing on Sept 13

Digital Desk: Arunachal Pradesh will mark the birth centenary of Bharat Ratna Dr. Bhupen Hazarika with a grand state-level celebration in Roing on September 13.

The event will bring together artists, cultural icons, and admirers to pay tribute to the legendary singer, composer, lyricist, and filmmaker whose work championed unity, social harmony, and the cultural richness of the Northeast.

Arunachal Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein, who convened a meeting of the celebration committee on Monday, said the gathering was aimed at finalising the programme details.

The committee also resolved to confer the Dr. Bhupen Hazarika Samanyay Award on the occasion, honouring individuals who embody the spirit of cultural unity and inclusivity.
