Mizoram: 2nd peacetime gallantry honour, Kirti Chakra awarded to Captain Lalrinawma Sailo

Digital Desk: Among the 40 distinguished service awards and 127 gallantry awards that the President approved this year, Captain Lalrinawma Sailo of 4 PARA (Special Forces) received the Kirti Chakra, India's second-highest peacetime gallantry honor, for his extraordinary bravery during high-risk operations.

Captain Sailo is a native of Chanmari, Aizawl, and a graduate of the Indian Military Academy (IMA), the National Defence Academy (NDA), and the Rashtriya Indian Military College (RIMC).

Sailo is just the second Mizo to be honored, after the Assam Rifles' Subedar Chalhnuna.

The honor highlights his extraordinary bravery, even though the specifics of his operation are still under wraps.

Lt. Shashank Tiwari, Lance Naik Meenatchi Sundaram A, and Sepoy Janjal Pravin Prabhakar are the other 3 bravehearts who received the honor.
