Assam’s Hearthrob and Legendary Singer Zubeen Garg is no more
Digital Desk: Bereavement all over the state, fans mourn, family devastated. Today turns out to be a very sad day in history after our beloved and Assam’s heartthrob Zubeen Garg (52) passes away.
It’s hard to believe that Zubeen is no more with us; his voice and him will always be remembered.
With an enticing voice, he once ruled the nation, giving superhit songs in Bollywood like ‘Ya-ali’, ‘Dil tu hi bata’, and Pakiza. While he was the king of Assam’s singing world, he gave hits that included his debut song Anamika. Garg's first recorded songs were "Tumi Junu Pariba Hun" and "Tumi Junaki Hubakh". Garg had sung in 40 other languages.
Before passing away, Garg had traveled to Singapore to take part in the North East Festival, where he was supposed to play on Wednesday. After going scuba diving, he was pulled from the ocean by Singaporean authorities and brought to a hospital for critical care.
He was in the intensive care unit, where doctors were keeping an eye on his condition, but he did not survive and was declared dead; the hospital has confirmed his passing.
More details are yet to be announced.
