Senior legal professional Ziaul Kamar of the Gauhati High Court, who has already handled several delicate and high-profile cases, is one of the candidates vying for the critical position of special public prosecutor.
According to government sources familiar with the current scenario, Pallab Kataki, a well-known criminal lawyer, is also being considered for inclusion on the prosecution team. The court department is expected to issue the formal order at least one week prior to the next hearing in the case.
