Digital Desk: As the first Indian finalist on Britain's Got Talent (BGT) 2025, 9-year-old Binita Chettri of Bokajan in the Karbi Anglong region of Assam made history by finishing third (second runner-up) in the grand finale that took place in the UK on May 31.
In a moment of great pride, Binita received a standing ovation for her impressive gymnastics and dance routines, which captivated judges and viewers on behalf of the Gorkha community and the Indian subcontinent.
The Blackouts, an LED dancing group, came in second place, while British magician Harry Moulding won the competition.
Before one act (semi-final), Binita stated, "If I win, I'll buy a pink princess house."
Binita's win enticed Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and billionaire Anand Mahindra to compliment her exceptional talent, with Mahindra describing her as a "world-class talent" and "true artist with willpower."
Following the finals, Binita thanked global supporters on BGT's official social media, particularly UK viewers, for their votes and affection.
