BCCI on India's Champions Trophy win; No open bus parade to be held due to Players commitment to IPL

Digital Desk: India's success in the T20 World Cup last year, followed by the Champions Trophy in Dubai on 9th March, has had a long-lasting influence on the nation. As always, cricket fans were waiting for the team to once again witness an open-bus parade.

However, the open bus procession in Mumbai and subsequent victory in Dubai sparked widespread jubilation with the T20 World Cup win last year, with Rohit Sharma's Indian side being the first to win two ICC titles in a row. It is disappointing for the fans that such scenes are unlikely to occur again this time.

Notably, there will be no open bus parades this time because Indian cricketers are anticipated to return to their respective towns separately. On Monday night, India skipper Rohit Sharma and all-rounder Hardik Pandya arrived at Mumbai International Airport to a hero's welcome.

Head coach Gautam Gambhir and fast bowler Harshit Rana have returned to New Delhi, while star batsman Virat Kohli is expected to arrive soon.

More to the decision not to hold an open bus parade and different arrivals of the players are due to the Indian cricketers' dedication to their respective IPL franchises. IPL 2025 is due to begin on March 22. India's Champions Trophy-winning players will have little time to spend with their families before returning to training.

As per BCCI source cited by the PTI, "All of the players with families left Dubai on Monday. " Some players have stayed back for a few days."
