Celebration of Chapchar Kut 2025 festival announced by the Mizoram Government

Digital Desk: The Mizoram government has officially declared the celebration of Chapchar Kut 2025, one of the state's most lively and culturally significant festivals. The fest is to be commemorated as a one-day event in Mizoram on March 7, 2025 (Friday), as stated in the government notification.

However, in the state capital, Aizawl, the event will be celebrated over two days on March 6 and 7, 2025, at AR Lammual.  

Chapchar Kut, which is usually celebrated after the forest has been cleared for jhum planting, is recognized for its lively cultural events, traditional dances, and displays of Mizo history.

The two-day celebration in Aizawl is intended to draw both locals and foreigners, highlighting Mizoram's diverse cultural mosaic.

To encourage participation, the administration has allowed all government officials stationed in Aizawl to attend the celebrations on March 6, 2025 (Thursday), as long as they acquire prior consent from their respective supervising authorities.
