Gunfire in the Hills: Suspected NSCN (K-YA) Militant Killed In Arunachal Encounter

Digital Desk: Tension returned to the serene hills of Arunachal Pradesh as a suspected NSCN (K-YA) militant was killed in a fierce exchange of fire with the Assam Rifles. Officials stated that the incident occurred on Sunday during a routine patrol on the India-Myanmar border in Longding district, Arunachal Pradesh.

According to a senior officer, the shootout occurred between Khogla and Lyangche villages when a patrol team from the Wakka Company Operating Base met with heavy fire shots from a hidden ambush suspected to be placed by NSCN (K-YA) militants in the stern jungle environment. "The patrol was suddenly attacked, but the troops reacted swiftly and with commendable composure. They launched an effective counter assault, compelling the insurgents to retreat and abandon their position," the official stated.

Following the exchange of fire, Assam Rifles personnel searched the area and found a temporary rebel hideaway. One suspected militant was found dead, and a large stockpile of war-like supplies, including rifles, ammo, and other military-grade supplies was discovered at the site.

Security has been tightened in the area, and officials continue combing operations to ensure no further threats are lurking in the forests.
