IPL 2025: Assam’s Riyan Parag named as Rajasthan Royals captain for first three matches

Digital Desk: Big news! Riyan Parag will take charge of the Rajasthan Royals for the first three IPL 2025 games as the captain; confirms the team.

The Rajasthan Royals have confirmed that Riyan Parag will captain the squad for the first three matches of the IPL 2025.

Riyan will take command during the series as opener against Sunrisers Hyderabad on March 23, followed by home games against reigning champions Kolkata Knight Riders on March 26 and five-time winners Chennai Super Kings on March 30.

Meanwhile, Sanju Samson, a prominent member of the Royals' lineup, will continue to contribute with the bat until he is approved for wicketkeeping and fielding. He will return as captain once he is totally fit.

The Rajasthan Royals' move in selecting young boy Riyan as captain indicates their faith in his ability to lead, which he has proven throughout his time as the domestic captain of Assam.

He is qualified to fill this position for the first round of the competition since he has been an integral part of the Royals setup over the years and understands the complexities of the team.
