Digital Desk: The Chennai Super Kings and Delhi Capitals faced off in Game 17 of the current IPL (Indian Premier League) 2025. On April 5, both teams played in Chennai's MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chepauk. After winning the toss, the Delhi Capitals entered the match to bat first.

Jake Fraser-McGurk left the team in the first over, giving them a poor start. But with scores of 33 and 77 runs, respectively, Abhishek Porel and KL Rahul steadied the innings. In addition to Sameer Rizvi's 20 runs, Axar Patel contributed 21 runs.

The Delhi Capitals scored 183 runs in the first innings. With two wickets to his credit, Khaleel Ahmed led the Chennai Super Kings in wicket-taking. Additionally, Matheesha Pathirana, Noor Ahmad, and Ravindra Jadeja each claimed one wicket.

With openers Devon Conway and Rachin Ravindra leaving for 13 and 3, respectively, the Chennai Super Kings, who were hoping to chase down the goal of 184 runs, got off to a terrible start.

In addition, captain Ruturaj Gaikwad's wicket with giving only 5 runs left fans disappointed.

Vijay Shankar played a strong knock after the top order failed to step up, but he was unable to lead his team to victory either. Jadeja only contributed two runs to the total, and Shivam Dube left with eighteen runs. With two wickets to his credit, Vipraj Nigam led the Delhi Capitals in wicket-taking. Mukesh Kumar, Mitchell Starc, and Kuldeep Yadav all claimed one wicket apiece.

DC held CSK to 158 runs, while Shankar and Dhoni went undefeated with scores of 69* and 30*, respectively. In the end, the Chennai Super Kings failed to chase down the objective and lost the game.

Delhi Capitals won their third game in a row and remain unbeaten in the campaign. On the other side, Chennai Super Kings' terrible record in the tournament continues, and they will aim to improve in the next game.
