MS Dhoni's secured the rights over trademark "Captain Cool"; registration accepted

Digital Desk: Former Indian cricket captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni has applied to officially register the trademark "Captain Cool," a nickname he earned due to his calm demeanor during crucial periods of cricket matches.

The trademark application filed in June 2023 was "accepted and advertised" by the Trademarks Registry, Kolkata Office in June of this year. The trademark was submitted in the journal on June 16, 2025, to solicit objections. If no objection or opposition is filed against the trademark within 120 days of June 16, it will be granted.

The trademark application was made under Class 41, which includes activities related to education, training, entertainment, sports, and culture.

Dhoni has filed for the rights to "Captain Cool" in areas related to coaching and training for sports. When the "Captain Cool" trademark is granted, only Dhoni can use "Captain Cool" in business in sports and entertainment.
