Manipur: Bans on use of air guns ahead of PM Modi’s likely visit to Churachandpur
Digital Desk: In anticipation of PM Modi's likely visit to Manipur, a prohibitory order banning the carrying, use, or brandishing of air guns has been issued within the Churachandpur district with immediate effect.
The order, issued under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), 2023, cites security concerns, stating that air guns could create alarm, confusion, or potentially pose a threat during high-level movement.
The ban will remain in place until further notice.
Authorities have warned that any violation of the order will attract legal action under relevant laws.
The Superintendent of Police has been directed to ensure strict enforcement across the district.
Officials stated that the move is aimed at ensuring public safety and maintaining order during the scheduled programme involving the VVIP.
