Manipur: Hand grenade recovered at RIMS director’s residence
Digital Desk: In a concerning incident that has sent shockwaves spiraling down the Northeast State of Manipur, a hand grenade was found early this morning at the residence of the director of the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences, or RIMS, G Sunil Kumar.
This recovery of the hand grenade at G Sunil’s residence has triggered fresh concerns over his safety.
The grenade was discovered by the family members of the RIMS director at around 8 in the morning on Thursday inside the residence in the Imphal East district.
Authorities were alerted immediately, and a police team arrived at the scene to recover the explosive.
This is the second time that the RIMS director has been targeted.
In November 2023, a similar incident occurred when a bomb was planted at his residence.
Police are investigating the recovery of a grenade at the RIMS director’s residence.
However, no group has claimed responsibility thus far.
