Manipur: Huge cache of arms and ammunition recovered
Digital Desk: Security forces in Manipur have recovered and seized a huge cache of arms, ammunition and explosives in an early morning operation on Thursday.
The recovery and seizure of the arms, ammunition and explosives were made following raids at Twichin and Saibol villages under Yain-gang-pokpi police station in the Imphal East district of Manipur.
The arms and ammunition were found hidden in bunkers.
The joint team comprising Indian Army personnel and Manipur police personnel launched the intelligence-based search operation at 6 AM and concluded it by 1 PM.
During the operation, security personnel dismantled 13 tactically positioned bunkers allegedly erected by a Kuki armed group.
The search led to the recovery of various weapons.
Following the operation, all recovered materials were handed over to the Yain-gang-pokpi police station for further legal procedures.
