Manipur: Several Arms and Ammo surrendered today as deadline earlier announced by Governor AK Bhalla
Digital Desk: In a major development, several arms and ammunition were surrendered today, the last day before Manipur Governor AK Bhalla's deadline of 4 PM on Thursday (March 6) to turn in weapons looted since the ethnic unrest that started in Manipur in May 2023.
Around 89 arms and ammunition were surrendered to Dr. S. Ibomcha Singh, Commandant 6th IRB, Special Commando Unit In Charge, and his staff.
SLRs, AK-47 rifles, LMGs, carbines, Chinese handgrenades, ballistic cartridges, Wave Belt aerial antennas, air pistols, M 20 magazines, Insas rifle and LMG magazines, 7.62 and 303 LMG magazines, rubber bullets, smoke bomb shells, and lathode bomb shells, as well as a lot of ammunition, are among the weapons that were turned in.
