Digital Desk: In a planned joint operation, Border Security Force (BSF) Meghalaya troops and state police successfully captured two Indian nationals and a Tata Sumo along the international border in East Khasi Hills District.
Acting on specific intelligence, the 110 Bn's alert troops, along with state police, halted the car at Ichamati T-Junction and captured two Indian nationals, as well as a vehicle filled with contraband, near the international boundary.
The individuals attempted to smuggle the products across the border. When questioned, the driver failed to offer an invoice or any valid paperwork for the consignment.
The captured individuals, along with the impounded car, have been turned over to the Customs Office in Shella for further investigation and legal action.
This successful operation demonstrates the BSF and local police's unwavering commitment to safeguarding the international boundary and combating cross-border criminality.
The BSF is vigilant and determined to ensure national security and preserve law and order along the border.
