Meghalaya: Fire in Sahsniang Village, four-year-old girl killed

Digital Desk: A four-year-old girl died in a horrific house fire in Sahsniang village, Meghalaya's West Jaintia Hills region. 

The sad tragedy happened late Monday night, burning the house to ashes before help arrived.

The little girl was trapped inside the house when the fire suddenly started, according to sources. 

The blazing flames prevented rescue despite the frantic efforts of villagers and family members to save her. 

By the time the fire was out, the girl had been burned beyond recognition.

The authorities have initiated an inquiry to establish the cause of the incident.
