Digital Desk: Molin Kumar Chakma, BJP leader, will be sworn in as chief executive member (CEM) of Mizoram's Chakma Autonomous District Council (CADC) on Tuesday, says the party leader.
According to BJP leader Durjya Dhan Chakma, the oath-taking ceremony would take place at the CADC headquarters in Kamalanagar on Tuesday at noon.
Lawngtlai district Additional Deputy Commissioner Zoramsiama Hmar would administer the oath of office and secrecy to Molin Kumar Chakma because Deputy Commissioner Cheemala Siva Gopal Reddy is currently away, he added.
The Hon'ble Governor of Mizoram formally approved Molin Kumar Chakma's nomination on January 31, 2025. The Government of Mizoram's Secretary of District Council & Minority Affairs issued the order.
With this appointment, CADC reaches a significant milestone as the first government governed by the BJP to hold an absolute majority.
After Members of the District Council (MDCs) from the Mizo National Front (MNF) and the Zoram People's Movement (ZPM) joined the BJP, the new government could be formed.
