Mizoram: Indian Revenue Service (IRS) Officers study tour, visit Assam Rifles and Border Areas

Digital Desk: As part of a research tour to Mizoram on February 28 and March 1, 2025, a group of 75th batch Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officers toured the forward areas of Zokhawthar and Champhai, which were supervised by Assam Rifles.

IRS officials completing training as part of their foundation course visit various regions across the country regularly to get a firsthand understanding of the administrative and operational problems that different security agencies face.

Meanwhile, the tour intended to improve their awareness of border management and the role of paramilitary forces in protecting the country's borders.

Myanmar border and were briefed on the Assam Rifles' operational readiness. The briefing featured information about the challenges created by drug trafficking, the unlawful influx of Myanmar nationals, and the treatments used by the Assam Rifles to tackle these issues.

The officers also held an interactive session with the Deputy Inspector General of Mizoram Ranges, Assam Rifles. The workshop gave them a better grasp of the region's sociopolitical challenges as well as the crucial role that the Assam Rifles play in ensuring border security and stability.

The tour is part of constant attempts to give IRS officers a broad perspective on national security and cross-border challenges, which will be critical in their future responsibilities in revenue administration and policymaking.
