Mizoram Cabinet undergoes major reshuffle
Digital Desk: The Lalduhoma-led Mizoram cabinet has undergone a major cabinet reshuffle, with as many as seven ministers being reassigned with portfolios.
A notification has been issued by Mizoram chief secretary Khilli Ram Meena in this regard.
The disaster management and rehabilitation portfolio, which was earlier held by home minister K Sapdanga, has been awarded to Lal-nil-aw-ma, in addition to his existing portfolios of rural development and administration and public health engineering departments.
Mizoram home minister K Sapdanga will now handle three portfolios: Home, urban development and poverty alleviation, and personnel and administrative reforms.
The tourism portfolio has been transferred from cabinet minister Lal-rin-puii to minister of state Lal-ghing-lova Hmar, who will retain sports and youth services, labour, employment, skill development and entrepreneurship, and excise and narcotics portfolios.
The horticulture department has been assigned to cabinet minister C Lal-sawi-vunga, in addition to his existing portfolios: art and culture, district council and minority affairs, and animal husbandry and veterinary.
The new department—public relations, printing and stationery—has been assigned to cabinet minister Van-lal-hlana, who also holds school education, higher and technical education, and information and communication technology portfolios.
