Multiplex ticket prices for Salman Khan's 'Sikandar' soar to Rs 2,200, single-screen rate priced upto Rs 700

Digital Desk: Salman Khan's Sikandar, which releases in theaters on March 30, will make this year's Eid celebrations extra special. The fans are getting more excited now that there are only two days left. With ticket rates in metro areas reaching over Rs 2000 and some single-screen theaters charging up to Rs 700 for recliner seats, it is apparent the theater is in high demand.

On March 25, Sikandar's advance sales began, and by the evening, BookMyShow had tickets available in the majority of Indian theaters. Premium ticket prices have skyrocketed because multiplexes implemented blockbuster pricing.

Notably, a VIP ticket at Delhi's DLF Mall in Saket costs Rs 800. A lounger at the Mall of India in Noida costs Rs 1000 in the morning, but prices skyrocketed to Rs 1400 in the evening.

The cost of a recliner seat at the Plaza Cinema in Dadar, Mumbai, can reach Rs 700 for nighttime performances. Some in the industry are concerned that this would turn off spectators, while others see it as an indication of high demand. But although certain events in Delhi-NCR are filling up quickly, several screenings are already sold out.

Meanwhile, according to Sacnilk, Sikandar has generated a lot of buzz since advance ticket sales began on Tuesday. So far, over 98,296 tickets have been sold, contributing Rs 2.83 crore to the overall box office revenue.

The majority of revenues come from the film's 2D version, which accounts for Rs 2.81 crore (98,057 tickets sold), with the remaining coming from IMAX 2D screenings. Maharashtra and Delhi have emerged as the film's main markets. Maharashtra leads with Rs 1.55 crore in advance sales, followed by Delhi with Rs 1.29 crore.

A. R. Murugadoss directs Sikandar, which stars Rashmika Mandanna, Sathyaraj, Kajal Aggarwal, and Sharman Joshi alongside Salman Khan.
