NSCN-IM supremo TH Muivah arrives in Ukhrul, Manipur

 

Digital Desk: In a major development, NSCN-IM Patriarch TH Muivah has arrived in Ukhrul, Manipur.

Furthermore, the team of the GPRN leadership who have already arrived in Ukhrul includes the Collective Leadership Members Puni Mao, Hutovi Chishi, Convenor Steering Committee Qhevihe Chishi Swu, and Deputy Ato Kilonser VS Atem.

Furthermore, the team of GPRN leadership comprises Collective Leadership Member cum Special Emissary to the Collective Leadership, Rh Raising, General Ningkhan Shimray, followed by General Secretary of the Council of Nagalim Churches (CNC) Reverand Seksim Kasar, further followed by several other top leaders. 

The Phungyo Baptist Church, Ukhrul, followed by the All Tribal Students' Union, Manipur, which stands for the acronym ATSUM, have joined hands with the residents in the area to prepare a grand reception for the ageing NSCN-IM Patriarch. 

Along these lines, a welcome gate with the Tangkhul word ‘Halelo’ has been erected at the Phungyo Church Tangrei. 

Thuingaleng Muivah returns to Ukhrul after a period of 50 years. 

In this regard, a sea of people gathered at the Tangkhul Long Ground in Ukhrul district headquarters on Wednesday, awaiting the arrival of Thuingaleng Muivah, Ato Kilonser (Prime Minister) of the National Socialist Council of Nagalim (NSCN/GPRN).

The 91-year-old Naga leader is returning to his hometown after more than five decades, marking a moment of deep emotional and political significance for the Tangkhul Naga community. Muivah, who has spent much of his life leading the Naga movement from jungles and abroad, is visiting Somdal village, his birthplace, for the first time since going underground in the 1960s.

Ahead of Th Muivah’s visit to the Somdal Village area in Ukhrul District of Manipur, the Manipur-based Naga organisation, which is the Zeliangrong United Front or ZUF, has categorically asked Thuingaleng Muivah, general secretary of the National Socialist Council of Nagalim (NSCN), to apologise to the Naga communities for his past mistakes during his homecoming today.
