Manipur: Naga People’s Organisation condemns Kuki-Zo shutdown

Digital Desk: The Naga People's Organisation has condemned the ongoing indefinite total shutdown imposed by the Kuki-Zo groups in Manipur.

The Naga body has also issued a 24-hour ultimatum to the government to intervene and ensure that the shutdown gets lifted.

The organization has warned the government of serious consequences if its demand is not met.

The shutdown by Kuki-Zo organisations in Manipur has crippled daily life, affecting livelihoods, transportation and access to essential services.

In a stern statement, the Naga People’s Organisation urged the government to take immediate action to restore normalcy.

It warned that the Naga community will take its course of action if the shutdown is not lifted.

It may be mentioned here that the indefinite shutdown in Kuki-Zo-dominated areas of Manipur entered its fifth day on Thursday.

With hundreds of Kuki-Zo women enforcing stringent rules on vehicle movement in Kangpokpi, the shutdown has affected normal daily life.
