OpenAI CEO Sam Altman's request 'team needs sleep', asks users to 'slow down' on Ghibli trend
Digital Desk: OpenAI CEO Sam Altman was forced to urge ChatGPT users to slow down as the Ghibli trend took over the internet. This came just days after the extensive usage of ChatGPT's latest picture generator, powered by the GPT 4o, caused a server burden at OpenAI, slowing down the company's service.
Social media platforms have been swept up in an AI-driven frenzy, with feeds overflowing with dreamy Ghibli-inspired imagery.
The viral craze, which reimagines anything from pop culture icons to personal pictures in the trademark style of a famed Japanese animation company, has users creating photos at a record rate.
Altman wrote on X, "Our team needs sleep."

Earlier this week, Altman stated that the ChatGPT server load is "too high".
"It's really great to see how much people enjoy images in ChatGPT. However, our GPUs are melting. We will temporarily implement rate limitations as we work to improve efficiency. Hopefully it won't be long," he tweeted.
The particular style has dominated social media, with viewers eager to see themselves and their familiar surroundings converted into Ghibli masterpieces.
