Rajasthan Royals vs Kolkata Knight Riders IPL 2025: KKR wins by 8 wickets
Digital Desk: Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) defeated Rajasthan Royals (RR) by eight wickets in their latest IPL match at the Barsapara Stadium in Guwahati, chasing down a total of 152 in just 17.3 overs. The star of the show was Quinton de Kock, who led KKR to victory at a rapid pace with an undefeated 97 off 61 balls.
RR batted first and scored 151/9 in 20 overs. Although captain Riyan Parag (25 off 15) and opener Yashasvi Jaiswal (29 off 24) gave the team some early impetus, the middle order struggled against KKR's methodical bowling attack. While Jofra Archer's late appearance (16 off 7) helped RR surpass 150, Dhruv Jurel responded with a solid 33 off 28.
With Moeen Ali (2/23) and Varun Chakravarthy (2/17) at the forefront, KKR's bowlers maintained the pressure. Harshit Rana and Vaibhav Arora both took two wickets each.
The chase by KKR began cautiously, with Moeen Ali (5) being run out early. De Kock, on the other hand, took command of the innings, hitting eight fours and six sixes. Before losing to Wanindu Hasaranga, skipper Ajinkya Rahane put in 18 runs, but Angkrish Raghuvanshi (22* off 17) made sure there were no more interruptions.
Despite RR's bowling efforts, KKR's chase was easy, with Jofra Archer (0/33 in 2.3 overs) and Hasaranga (1/34) proving steep. Because of De Kock's masterclass, KKR easily crossed the finish line, solidifying their dominant position in the competition.
