Rishabh Pant ruled out of Asia Cup 2025 amid injuries sustained in test match-Reports

Digital Desk: The 17th Asia Cup will take place in the United Arab Emirates from September 9 to September 28. Amidst this, a report has surfaced suggesting that India's wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant is "possibly" ruled out of the upcoming Asia Cup and the home Test series against the West Indies.

Due to the injury he sustained in Manchester during the fourth Test match of the just finished Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy series against England, the decision is as follows.

The Test series against the West Indies will begin less than a week after the continental tournament concludes. In that series, India will only play two Test matches, from October 2 to October 14.

After sustaining a toe fracture during the Test series against England, Pant is reportedly not participating in either event, according to a Times of India report.

Pant was ultimately excluded from the final Test, where India defeated England by a stunning six-run heist at The Oval to finish the five-match series with a 2-2 draw. Pant would not need surgery, the report added.

With India, Pakistan, the United Arab Emirates, and Oman all in group A, India is probably going to play all of its games in Dubai. As is customary, the Asia Cup will be played in T20 format this year, with the T20 World Cup in India and Sri Lanka serving as the next ICC global event.
