Riyan Parag fined Rs 12 lakhs by BCCI
Digital Desk: The BCCI fined Rajasthan Royals' stand-in skipper Riyan Parag ₹12 lakhs for maintaining a slow over-rate during the match against Chennai Super Kings at Barsapara Stadium.
This fine follows Rajasthan's first IPL 2025 victory over CSK on Sunday.
Parag was charged under Article 2.22 of the IPL's Code of Conduct, as it was the team's first offense.
On Sunday (March 30), Rajasthan Royals (RR) secured their first win of the season, edging out Chennai Super Kings (CSK) by a slender 6-run margin at the Barsapara Stadium, Guwahati.
The thrilling contest, which went down to the wire, saw RR post a competitive total of 182/9, courtesy of Nitish Rana's explosive 81 off 36 balls.
Rana's blistering knock, laced with 10 fours and 5 sixes, was instrumental in propelling RR to a respectable score. Sanju Samson's quickfire start and Riyan Parag's 37 off 28 balls also contributed significantly to RR's total.
