Tensions escalate within ruling coalition in Tripura, Pradyot Debbarma threatens to quit BJP-led alliance

Tensions appear to be escalating within the ruling coalition in Tripura, as Tipra Motha Party founder Pradyot Debbarma issued a stern warning to alliance partner BJP, signaling possible fallout if the Centre fails to fulfill promises made under the Tiprasa Accord.
Speaking to the media, Debbarma expressed frustration over what he termed as the Centre’s delay in acting on commitments made to the indigenous people of Tripura.
Debbarma asserted that his commitment is to the tribal people of Tripura.
He said that it would be difficult for him and his party to continue to stay in alliance with the BJP if the commitments are not delivered to the people.
The Tiprasa Accord is aimed at addressing the socio-political and economic aspirations of the indigenous Tiprasa community in Tripura.
However, delays in its implementation have triggered concerns among Tipra Motha Party leaders and supporters.
